Bee Edge Farm

Bee Edge Farm

Bee Edge farm is a progressive family farm run by Will Hamilton on the outskirts of the picturesque villages of Coldingham and St Abbs on the Berwickshire Coast. The farming business consists of growing wheat, barley, oats, and oilseed rape plus finishing roughly 300 head of prime beef cattle each year.

Bee Edge farm focuses on using modern machinery and precision technology to grow high quality malting barley for a local maltsters that is destined for well known beer and whisky brands. The majority of the beef cattle are sold through the local market, St Boswells, to local butchers and end up on plates in the Scottish Borders and restaurants further afield.

Bee Edge Farm encompasses a strong focus on sound environmental practices and Will has planted many miles of new hedgerows and acres of new woodland since moving to Bee Edge in 1979. In recent years, a pond, reed beds and wild bird feed strips have been created to encourage the development of new habitat and this was rewarded with the arrival of a flock of yellow hammer birds.
